Partially visible at the right is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #5892, an EP-22 built by GM-EMD in April of 1950 and rated at 2,250 horsepower. Looks to me like GM-EMD rules the roost! The photographer's name and the exact date are not recorded. |

Here a duplicate 35mm color slide of a photo by Dave Ingles that was taken at Chicago's Union Station on 18 August 1963. Shown here (R to L) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #5892 and #5799. Both are EP-22's built by GM-EMD and rated at 2,250 horsepower each. #5892 was built in April of 1950, while #5799 was constructed in June of 1952. They're ready to depart the Station with the "Broadway Limited" bound for Pittsburgh and New York City. ("Stoneborobranch"; #9 of 10) |
