Description:
8.8.1989 Roanoke, VA. NS 8530 leading the locomotive consist on another coal train heading to the coal docks. Taken in pre-climate change concern times, the number of coal shipments running through Roanoke were high. The former N&W headquarters building is part of the backdrop. The current Amtrak station (ROA) is situated across the tracks from it. The massive signal bridge no longer exists.
