Here is the first of two photos taken by Frank Clodfelter. It was published originally in the October 1948 issue of "Trains" magazine, page 31. Photo Caption: "Washington Terminal maintenance men pause as one of the Pennsylvania's classic GG-1 locomotives moves out past K interlocking tower." Prominent here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #4921, a GG-1 (2-C-C-2) electric built in Juniata during July of 1942 and rated at 4,620 horsepower. |
