Here is an original photo by Douglas C. Jones that was taken just East of the Coaling Tipple in East Altoona, Pennsylvania, c. 1957. Partially visible at the far right ~ just after taking a spin on the East Altoona Turntable ~ is an unidentified Pennsylvania Railroad "I" Class (2-10-0) "Decapod" steam locomotive awaiting its next assignment. Center stage is an unidentified PRR "M" Class (4-8-2) "Mountain" steam locomotive whose main driving rods have been removed in preparation for scrapping. |
