PRR 790 I-1SA, c. 1953         
Here is an original photo by Douglas C. Jones that was taken in Altoona, Pennsylvania, c. 1953. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #790, an I-1SA (2-10-0) "Decapod" built in Juniata in December of 1916, rebuilt as an I-1SA in January of 1943, and retired in August of 1956 after 40 years of service. It's returning to East Altoona following another helper/pusher run up the Allegheny Mountains to Gallitzin and back. Photo taken just East of the 4th Street Footbridge.
