| Description: |
Built as Southern Pacific French Quarter 40 seat club lounge-valet/stewardess room with shower #2988 (Budd 1950), sold to Amtrak and renumbered #3310 (1971), rebuilt to HEP Auto Train café car #8701 (1983). Stored in 1994 and retired in 1995. Sold by Amtrak to Illinois Transit Assembly Inc. (ITAX) in 1996. Bought by Mid America Railcar Services in 2010 and used in their extensive lease fleet, seeing service behind locomotives such as NKP 765 in 2013 as a commissary car. Sold 2014 to IFE Railcar Leasing/Phillip Schridan and used on several St Louis Union Station excursion trains for Marriott. During this period Great Lakes Railcar (GTLX) reporting marks were carried. Sold to Reading and Northern November 2021 and renumbered 1168. |
