Title:
GTW 5857
Description:
A CN local crosses N. Lynndale Dr. as it heads southeast via former C&NW rails at Appleton, WI on 16 Dec. '18. Local, on its way back from New London, was slowing to prepare to switch Wisconsin Building Supply, 222 N. Lilas Dr., out-of-frame to left. N. Lynndale Dr. forms part of the ridiculously convoluted border between Appleton (to left) and the Town of Grand Chute (to right).

GTW 5857
Description:
A CN local switches Wisconsin Building Supply, 222 N. Lilas Dr., via former C&NW rails at Appleton, WI on 16 Dec. '18. The roof of one of the lumber sheds is partially visible above the 3rd and 4th covered hoppers. Local was picking up an empty centerbeam flatcar, being coupled to the 5th covered hopper. The east end of the Marketplace Shopping Center, 2700 W. College Ave., can be seen at left. This portion is currently vacant, since WG&R Furniture moved to their new facility at the intersection of W. Wisconsin Ave. and Hwy. 41.

GTW 5857
Description:
A CN local crosses W. College Ave. as it heads southeast via former C&NW rails at Appleton, WI on 16 Dec. '18. Local was returning from New London. The old Kmart store, 2400 W. College Ave., stood on the north side of College Ave. until it was demolished in '09. It dated to at least '67; it closed in '00. Due to the ridiculously convoluted border between Appleton and the Town of Grand Chute, the train was, for the most part, in the former while I was standing in the latter.
