Title:  Alaska RR 3015 With MEX About 10 miles South of Anchorage
Description:  This is the Princess Lines McKinley Express (MEX) which runs Saturdays and Mondays Seward (passengers actually get on/off at Whittier where the cruise ships berth) to Talkeetna where the passengers stay at the McKinley Princess Lodge. It is all ARR Equipment and shown SB at about 5:00 pm. The trailing locomotive so the train does not need to be turned is ARR 4327 (SD0MAC). The train was quite full. Parallel to the tracks is the Seward Highway from Anchorage south. Below it is the Potter Marsh, a birder paradise. Above the train is Turnagain Arm of the Cooks Inlet. Description:  As the days were getting longer, the Aurora Winter Train became a viable option to go and shoot. During the winter, this train will leave Anchorage on Saturday morning and run to Fairbanks. The next morning, it will depart Fairbanks and head back home to Anchorage. Here it is running through the middle of nowhere (I was out on some snow mobile trail somewhere) on its weekly Sunday run.

This train started in Seward eary, early in the morning, ran to Whittier then to Anchorage here, will run non-stop to Denali, then back to Whittier, and then finally to the siding in Portage before calling it a day.
