Crossing the Platte
Description:
Bridging the Platte River on the way out of Denver, a trio of new SD50s get under way. Lead 5501 was built by EMD in August 1984 and was only two months old. Trailing 5516 was only one month old. 5501 was renumbered to UP 5095 in 2001 and again to 9845 in 2002. It would be retired in the late 2000s.
