Description:  Parked with its caboose in a Chicago yard is Chicago & Eastern Illinois 2-8-2 Mikado #1912. Built by Alco-Brooks in September of 1912, the loco was both powerful and fast making it a great addition to the roster. After nearly 38 years of service, the loco was dismantled by C&EI in April of 1947. Original specs - serial #51857, N-1 class, 63" drivers, 175 psi boiler pressure, 28x30" cylinders, engine weight of 300,000 lb, tractive effort of 55,533 lb. This is a Sid Davies photo
