Description:
It was a couple of years after the 1982 MP-WP-UP merger before Union Pacific and Western Pacific locomotives became common on the Missouri Pacific around New Orleans, so it was a real treat to find units from all three roads outside the diesel shop at Avondale yard. From left to right are WP GP40 3531 (with UP SD45 No. 21), UP SD40-2 3785, and MP GP38-2's 2166 and 2205.
